DeleteMy nonbinary kid has had the exact same identity since they were 15 years old. They then 21 soon. They’re in college and working and totally content and happy in life. They did do one year of grief therapy after my DH died.
DeleteMy younger son is 17. He came out as gay at 12 years old. He amended that identification to pan about a year ago. I did have him in therapy but he hated it and it was probably doing more harm than good. His therapist suggested stopping for a while, until he’s actually ready to get something out of it, last year around Christmas. I can’t make him get anything out of it.
I have been in therapy for just about two years. I am trying. I am just doing my best, just like everyone else.

DeleteSorry, I assumed more people knew already. I'll try to answer the questions. She had a baby last month. I'd be surprised if she's on the BHB now - I only know from social media because we have some mutuals. Would also be surprised if she were on the June BB, but I guess I can't rule that out 100%. From what I can tell, the pregnancy was unexpected, but they seem happy about it. Name is pretty mainstream - in the top 50. Probably the most mainstream name out of all her kids. (I wouldn't be comfortable saying the specific name, because...baby.) Still lots of pets. Older kids seem to be doing okay, or as much as I can tell from the occasional glimpse I see. That's the gist of it, without going into really specific detail about kids lives which would not feel right.

It's one thing if your kid actively has norovirus and is vomiting and peeing out the butt, but it's a whole other thing if they are fever-free the day before departure, are feeling up to going, normal hygiene is being practiced and you have spent a small fortune on a non-refundable vacation and have already dedicated that time off from work. By going in public, you are accepting the associated risks. I wouldn't blame anyone else for me getting sick while on a pack airplane or in a busy, dirty-ass airport. If I was a person so agoraphobic and germaphobic like so many BHBers are, I would simply never leave my home and continue to sterilize groceries and Amazon deliveries.
What a worthless way to live. I hope ash goes on the vacation and has a fabulous time, and I hope her daughter feels better and nobody else gets sick. But if so, life moves on. 🤷♀️
