The man said something along the lines of “this is why people like you shouldn’t work in customer service.” My kid apologized and went back to get the sausage. When he gave it to the man, the man called him a slur. My kid suggested the man shut his mouth. The man stood up, threw his food at my kid, pushed him into the table, screamed a bunch of slurs and other bull shit and then left.
The second half of this altercation was caught on camera by another customer who followed the man out to the parking lot and got his license plate on video. That customer also called the police. The police came, took a report and suggested my kid press charges for assault

That's what I just can't wrap my head around. "Gender dysphoria" - It's literally in the name. By definition, dysphoria is a symptom of a mental health condition. Why is this not treated the same way as all other mental health conditions? Society doesn't encourage the demented, unchecked behavior of schizophrenics. Society doesn't encourage narcissists, psychopaths and sociopaths to inflict as much damage as possible to those around them. Society (as a whole) generally agrees that these individuals suffering from some type of chemical imbalance or genetic disposition be treated through therapy, counseling, monitored medication and in/outpatient treatment (not an argument for funding for these services, just as an agreed upon consensus). Why is gender dysphoria being celebrated as an identity marker, to which the likes that everybody else must agree or they're a bigoted transphobe? I get it...adults of sound mind should be able do what they want with their own bodies. But kids and teens don't need to be brought up their entire lives believing that they should trust educators, prioritize a solid education and trust science and biology, JUST to be taught that this issue of gender dysphoria is the exception. Girls can wear boys clothes, roughhouse with boys, play sports. Boys can play with Barbies, wear pink, like makeup. Both eventually discover that they are attracted to either men, women, both or neither. That DOES NOT change their biology. This matters when it comes to protecting the safe spaces (I hate myself for using that term) for BOTH sexes. The idea that we should all adopt an *inclusive* mindset for those with the UNTREATED mental health issues is precisely the catalyst in uprooting civilized society. The onus is 100% the parent's responsibility to be diligent and involved with their own children in order to easily recognize the signs that not all is well in their psyche. I'm almost starting to believe that the parents encouraging the trans nonsense are trying to make up for their past inability to successfully help their child when they were at their most vulnerable and needed it the most.

She is now a dental hygienist and buys her own crown and does have really long blonde hair but that's the extent of it.
